Here are some book reviews from Amazon.com of my most recently published book, The Autograph Book. If you read them and want to order a copy of your own please email me @ ambiancewoman@peoplepc.com to get instructions for ordering.
A thoroughly enjoyable story of a woman's life at the turn of the century. She is followed from Holland, by boat to America, through Ellis Island and by train to Nebraska. A wonderful "what if" that started with the facts and is embellished creatively. Pronunciations and pictures included. I laughed, I cried, I was hungry from the descriptions of food ! I felt as if I knew Jansje and now I hope her daughter Anna's story will be written next. I can't wait to find out more. I just wish this book had been longer :-)

Couldn't put it down. It is just so INTERESTING! Despite the serious generation gap, I felt a real kinship to Jansje, our heroine. Some of the obstacles she overcame you'd think insurmountable! Horrifying conditions on her trip to America, hailstorms and tornados, ruined crops and the mother-in-law from Hell all invading the happiness and contentment she finally found. I admit I cried more than once. There is plenty to learn from Jansje...Oh and let's not forget all the cooking that makes me feel so inspired to run into the kitchen and make bread and sweet rolls!

The Autograph Book is a must read for all women. Jansje is such a remarkable character, everyone who reads the book will fall in love with her. Jansje thinks she is an old maid since she is 27 and not married. Little did she know that she would someday become a wife and mother to six children. You will follow Jansje through out her life. There are times of sadness, and times of joy. Through each Jansje holds true to herself and overcomes any obstacles she is dealt with. I can't recommend this book enough!
